As a dermatologist, Annelies Lommerts sees many different patients and syndromes during her consultation hours. She specializes in pigment disorders and dermato-oncology.
Dr. Lommerts: 'Having a skin defect often has psychological consequences. Destigmatizing and learning how to deal with (chronic) skin diseases is something I pay a lot of attention to. There are many developments going on in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases. I therefore believe it is important to give patients with the skin disease control over their own treatment and to work together towards recovery. I often hear from my patients that I give clear explanations and that I am decisive. I go home with a satisfied feeling when I have given every patient the attention he/she needs for his or her skin disease.'
