Als dermatoloog ziet Annelies Lommerts op haar spreekuur veel verschillende patiënten en ziektebeelden. Hierbij is zij gespecialiseerd in pigmentstoornissen en dermato-oncologie.

Dr. Lommerts: ‘Het hebben van een huidafwijking heeft vaak psychische gevolgen. Het destigmatiseren van en leren omgaan met (chronische) huidziekten is iets waar ik veel aandacht voor heb. Er zijn vele ontwikkelingen gaande binnen de diagnostiek en behandeling van huidziekten. Het is mijns inziens daarom belangrijk om patiënten met de huidziekte zelf de regie te geven over hun behandeling en samen te werken naar herstel. Van mijn patiënten hoor ik vaak dat ik heldere uitleg geef en doortastend ben. Ik ga met een tevreden gevoel naar huis als ik iedere patiënt de aandacht heb gegeven die hij/zij nodig heeft voor zijn of haar huidziekte.’
