Michel van den Bekerom graduated cum laude from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium) in 2004, after which he followed the orthopedics training at the AMC/Slotervaart and Spaarne Hospital. After this training he completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow disorders. Michel van den Bekerom is a member of the Orthopedics department of OLVG and also practices with us. Michel is particularly interested in shoulder and elbow problems and in keyhole surgery.
'My interest in the musculoskeletal system arose from an active sports career. Now I try to give patients back painless function, especially shoulders and elbows. After my fellowship I can now do this at the highest level in Jan van Goyen and OLVG. I combine my clinical work with scientific research, especially in the field of my subspecialties, to further improve our treatment.'
