'Good research and diagnostics are essential. This is followed by a good and understandable explanation to the patient.' Nicolien Boot has been working as an ophthalmologist at Jan van Goyen Medical Center since January 2022. drs. Boot followed her training at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) and has been working as a specialist since 1996. In addition to her work in Jan van Goyen, she also works two days in OLVG. She practices the full spectrum of ophthalmology, with a special interest in glaucoma, anterior segment and retina.
'The eye is a fantastic organ in which there is a lot to experience. I think it is important that the patient has the opportunity to tell her/his complaint as well as possible. In doing so, I strive to make the best possible diagnosis, possibly after additional examinations, to explain this and then to discuss the possibilities, but also the impossibilities of treatment with the patient.'
