'Every patient is unique and requires an individual approach. Together with my patient I look for a balance in which he or she can take good care of themselves. I always try to ask myself what I would do if I were the patient. It makes me happy when I have the feeling that I have been able to do something for my patients, so that they can continue with a good feeling in the coming period.'
In addition to her work as a nursing specialist, Fatima is a member of the editorial board of the journal Diabetes Pro and also has a regular column in it. She is also a guest lecturer and trainer and a member of the Diabetes Nurse Specialists Network.
