In December, a new type of coronavirus broke out in China. The virus has now also appeared in the Netherlands. Read here how we deal with (suspicion of) the virus in Jan van Goyen.
The coronavirus is very similar to the flu virus
People with the new coronavirus have a fever (38 degrees and higher) and respiratory complaints. For example, coughing or shortness of breath. If you have a cold or lung complaints in the Netherlands, you usually do not have to worry that you have the new coronavirus. You are much more likely to have the flu or another cold virus.
Do you think you have the coronavirus?
Do you have an appointment at JvG and have you been in a country/region where the coronavirus is prevalent in the last 2 weeks and do you have complaints such as fever and cough or shortness of breath? Please first contact your GP by telephone. We request that you do not come to our medical center and contact us by telephone.
Measures within JvG
JvG follows the advice of the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM). This means that employees with complaints are also asked to stay at home.
What can you do yourself to prevent the spread?
This applies to all viruses that can cause the flu and colds.
• Wash your hands regularly
• Use paper tissues and throw them away immediately
• Cough and sneeze into the inside of the elbow (instead of in your hand)
