Anal complaints such as haemorrhoids, fissures, skin flaps, and fistulas are very common. At Medical Centre Jan van Goyen, you will find a professional team of proctologists who are highly experienced in the treatment of anal complaints.

The first consultation

Before we can treat your anal symptoms, it is important to investigate the underlying cause of the problem. Our proctologists carry out an extensive analysis for this. During the first consultation, our specialists will discuss the complaint with you. In order to determine the cause, they perform an anal examination using a proctoscope. This examination takes place immediately during the first consultation and takes about 10 minutes. Immediately after the examination, your proctologist will share his findings and make a proposal for the right treatment. In some cases it is possible to carry out the treatment directly during the first consultation.

Your own proctologist will also perform the operation and provide aftercare in the event of an operation. Experiences with the phlebology outpatient clinic

It was still a bit embarrassing for me to talk about my hemorrhoids. I hoped it would go away on its own, but unfortunately it didn't. My GP referred me to the Proctology outpatient clinic of the Jan van Goyen Medical Center. After a few treatments I was completely rid of my complaints.

The itching around my anus just didn't go away. I tried a lot to get rid of it myself, but it didn't happen. After an examination at the Jan van Goyen Medical Center I was found to have fistulas. It was a bit crazy to show it to the doctor, but I am now very grateful to him for the treatment.

The doctor helped me tremendously with my fissures. It bothered me for a long time when I went to the bathroom. At one point it was so bad that I tried to keep my stools down, but that is of course very bad. I am relieved that I am now free of the pain.

To make an appointment at our proctology department, you need a referral from your general practitioner or another specialist.
No, hemorrhoids are not contagious. You don't have to be afraid to get them when someone close to you is bothered by them. However, there is a hereditary factor involved in hemorrhoids. If someone in your family suffers from this condition, there is a chance that you also have a predisposition to it.
We advise you to exercise again after one week, based on your complaints.
It is important that you let the stool come naturally and not strain. Once you have used the toilet, it is important that you rinse with lukewarm water. In addition, it is important that you ensure smooth bowel movements.
We cannot guarantee that you will never suffer from hemorrhoids again after the treatment. By ensuring regular and smooth bowel movements, you can prevent hemorrhoids as much as possible.
