With EVLB, the varicose vein in the upper leg or calf is closed off with the use of a laser. Guided by ultrasound, the varicose vein is punctured at knee level (when the upper leg is treated) or below the calf (when the calf is treated). Via this access point, a laser thread is then inserted into the vein. The right position of the laser thread is determined with ultrasound. The vein is sedated and then seared by the heat of the laser light while the thread is slowly pulled back. The result is that the varicose wall shrinks and the varicose vein closes.
After the treatment, you will get an elastic support stocking that must be worn during the day for 36 hours. We already have this stocking available for you at the clinic.
