With EVLB, the varicose vein in the thigh or calf is closed using a laser. Under ultrasound guidance, the varicose vein is punctured at the level of the knee (if we treat the upper leg) or at the bottom of the calf (if we treat the calf). A laser wire is advanced into the vein through this access. The correct position of the laser wire is determined with echo. The vein is anesthetized and then cauterized with the heat of the laser light by slowly pulling back the wire. As a result, the vein wall shrinks and the varicose vein closes.
After the treatment, you will get an elastic support stocking that must be worn during the day for 36 hours. We already have this stocking available for you at the clinic.
