Changes outpatient clinic Internal Medicine

Since January 2019, a number of changes have occurred at the Internal Medicine outpatient clinic of the Jan van Goyen Medical Center. For example, new colleagues in internist Eelco Meesters and nurse specialist Fatima Malki focus on our patients with diabetes problems and the HIV team has been expanded.

HIV team

Since the Slotervaart hospital closed its doors in January, the HIV team, which consisted of Dr Dominique Verhagen and HIV nurse Marc van Wijk, has been expanded with Dr. Fanny Lauw and HIV nurse Marjolein Broekhuizen. In addition to HIV treatment, patients are also treated for hepatitis B and C. HRAs are also performed (pre-stage screening for anal cancer in HIV+ men aged 35 and older). In addition, there is still the option of anonymous HIV testing.

The HIV outpatient clinic is small-scale, has short waiting times and has a general email address: hteam@jvg.nl.
