House rules and code of conduct
Medical Centre Jan van Goyen will do its utmost to provide you with excellent care and services. This also means that we set great store by mutual respect. For your and our own safety, we observe certain house rules and a code of conduct which is based on: disrespectful behaviour = unacceptable behaviour.
If you behave in an unacceptable manner, we can deny your access to our centre. In addition, unwanted or unacceptable behaviour may lead to criminal or civil legal procedures. Criminal or civil offences will be reported to the police. We retain the right to charge you with any costs resulting from theft or vandalism.
OUR HOUSE RULES
Patients and visitors must be able to show a means of identification. This is a statutory obligation which is also necessary with regard to the patient’s (correct) medical procedure.
To register patients quickly and correctly, all patients need to give their health insurance card and/or identification document, as well as their address and contact details to the reception desk staff as and when requested.
At Medical Centre Jan van Goyen, we treat each other with the utmost respect.
Patients receive information about the course of their treatments and possible waiting times.
Visitors need to observe the visiting hours and the number of visitors allowed on the recovery ward.
Visitors need to consider the patients that come to us for treatments.
Hurtful, discriminating, insulting, or sexist comments are unacceptable at all times.
Staff members will alert the emergency response officer(s) when someone displays threatening behaviour or uses physical violence.
When we notice that someone carries a weapon and/or any other dangerous object, this will be seized.
Theft and vandalism
Theft or vandalism of properties belonging to patients, visitors, attendants, the centre, or its staff will be reported to the police at all times.
Alcohol and drugs
Attendants or visitors who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be denied access to the centre.
Compliance with agreements
We will maintain the house rules at all times and under all circumstances. When visitors and/or patients do not comply with these rules and agreements, we will first issue a warning. In extreme cases, someone may be officially denied access to our medical centre.
Any official warning or denied access will be recorded in the patient’s medical file. In addition, we register the violation of our house rules in our central incident report system.
Maintaining a safe environment
If you notice a violation of the house rules, please do not hesitate to report this to one of our staff members, as a pleasant and safe environment is created collectively.
Please contact our Director for more information about our house rules.
